The 8505A is a high performance RF Network Analyzer operating from 500 kHz to 1.3 GHz. It accurately measures complex impedance, transfer functions, and group delay of coaxial components and semiconductors. It measures both phase and magnitude permitting characterization of either active or passive networks. The 8505A is an integrated design ecompassing bothe the swept rf source and receiver. The 8501A Storage Normalizer enhances the 8505A by offering on-screen annotation of major control settings, digital averaging and magnification, and flicker-free displays. The 8503A S-Parameter test set offers full characterization of two-port devices.

Options:
001 = HP-IB interface for automated applications
005 = Phase locking to an external source, useful in making very narrow band measurements
007 = Provides the ability to obtain data from the 8505A to the 8501A including front panel control settings, frequency, and CH1 and CH2 marker measurement information.
